It was two comfortable wins for the Jags this weekend as the team, playing with a full squad for the first time this year, turned over the Cruisers with a dominant 5-1 victory.
A momentary lapse of concentration saw the Cruisers pick up a consolation goal late in the game.
The free skating Cruisers, who are a highly skilled team had no answer to the team effort and solid defensive performance served up by the Jags on their first outing of the day.
Next up were the Tigers in “The Battle of the Big Cats”, who were no doubt feeling confident following two wins on the bounce from their opening weekend's fixtures.
The Tiger's were further bolstered by a surprise mid-season recruitment drive, seeing several former Jags players in their line-up. However, Sunday wasn’t to be their day. The free scoring Jag’s were able to quickly dismantle the Tigers defence, roaring to a 6-1 lead before the end of the first half. For the Tigers, who were offering very little in terms of offence, it meant a result was essentially beyond reach before the conclusion of the first half. The Jags, taking their foot off the gas during the closing frame allowed tigers to sneak a few goals making the final score look a little more respectable from their point of view. The end result a, 7-4 win for the Jags who never really needed to get out of second gear.

The boys are back to training tonight, with an eye on their next fixtures on 5th November.
